Ai+ Smartphone to add 100 service centres in south
Wed, 19th Aug 2026 (Today)
Ai+ Smartphone plans to add more than 100 authorised service centres in South India, expanding a regional network that already includes 106 centres across 74 cities.
The rollout will focus on Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telangana, which the company identified as key markets. Ai+ said its South India service network currently spans eight states and union territories.
The expansion comes as the smartphone brand looks to grow beyond its stronger base in North India, which accounts for 64% of sales. The southern push forms part of a broader effort to diversify its geographic mix.
Ai+ said it has sold more than 2 million units nationwide and recorded sales order value of more than Rs. 2,600 crore. In South India, it logged close to 800 service requests between November 2025 and August 2026, with 60% resolved on the first visit.
According to the company, the existing support network is backed by standardised processes, technician training, spare parts management and quality monitoring. Those measures are intended to maintain consistency across authorised locations as the footprint grows.
Regional focus
South India has become a more important market for smartphone brands because of its large urban centres, broad retail base and strong consumer technology adoption. For Ai+, the region offers an opportunity to build share in both accessible and mid-premium handset segments while improving after-sales access.
The service centre expansion is part of the company's broader regional growth strategy. Alongside the physical network, it is also looking to expand its portfolio of smartphones and AIoT products in the south.
Commenting on the expansion, Madhav Sheth outlined the company's view of the market.
"South India represents a significant growth opportunity for Ai+. As we deepen our presence across the region, our focus is not just on reaching more consumers but on building long-term trust through better access, a reliable ownership experience and products that are relevant to their evolving needs. We see considerable headroom for growth here and will continue investing in the ecosystem required to build Ai+ into a truly national technology brand," said Madhav Sheth, Chief Executive Officer, Ai+ Smartphone and Founder, NxtQuantum Shift Technologies.
Ai+ has positioned the service network as a core part of ownership support rather than a back-end function. In a competitive handset market, service access can influence repeat purchases, retailer confidence and consumers' willingness to try newer brands.
The company's current numbers suggest its installed base in the region is still at an early stage compared with its national sales footprint. That gives it room to build infrastructure before volumes rise further, particularly in cities where consumers may expect local support rather than relying on larger metro hubs.
Brand build-out
Ai+ describes itself as an Indian technology brand and has tied its identity to software and connected devices as well as smartphones. Its phones run on NxtQuantum OS, which it describes as India's first sovereign mobile operating system.
NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, founded by Sheth, develops the operating system. The company said its broader aim is to build digital platforms designed and developed in India.
For Ai+, the southern expansion appears to serve two goals: increasing practical support for device owners and strengthening its position as a national consumer technology brand. Service coverage can also help handset makers support offline distribution, which remains important in many Indian smartphone markets.
Sheth also outlined the broader thinking behind the company's product and market approach.
"Our ambition is to build a technology brand around what technology enables people to do, experience and achieve, rather than simply what sits inside a device. As we expand our presence in the region, our focus is on making that proposition relevant to consumers through greater access, a reliable ownership experience and products that address their evolving needs. We believe there is significant headroom for growth in South India and will continue to invest in the ecosystem required to support this journey," said Sheth.
The planned addition of more than 100 authorised service centres would significantly expand Ai+'s support footprint in South India from its current base of 106 centres across 74 cities.
