Isometric digital twin building tour with layers and analytics

Apollo3D unveils guided virtual tours with analytics

Wed, 10th Dec 2025

Apollo3D has launched a new virtual tour platform that links multiple retail and venue sites in a single experience and tracks how visitors move through digital spaces.

The product is called Infinity Virtual Tours. It sits on top of Matterport's core software and adds a structured navigation layer and analytics tools.

Apollo3D is based in Yorkshire. The company said it is receiving interest from clients in the UK, Ireland, Europe and the United States.

The system targets retailers, hospitality operators and facilities managers. It also targets universities, heritage attractions and large venues.

Structured navigation

Infinity Virtual Tours converts a standard digital walkthrough into a guided experience. The platform uses a clear menu system that directs viewers to key parts of a shop, venue or facility.

The viewer no longer explores a 3D model without direction. The experience instead resembles a guided visit through a building.

Businesses can highlight specific zones within a site. They can also present different layouts and views to different audiences.

Apollo3D said this guided structure lets organisations shape the online journey. It said this approach supports marketing, booking and building management processes.

The platform works with any existing Matterport model. This includes models produced by other scanning providers.

This approach means clients with existing scans can add new layers of navigation and data. It also means they do not need to rescan sites.

Operational focus

The company is also targeting building and facilities managers. The platform brings manuals, asset records, safety documents and live data feeds into one digital view of a site.

Contractors and internal teams can examine spaces remotely. They can do this without travelling to the site.

Apollo3D said this reduces delays and follow-up visits. It said this applies in particular to larger or more complex buildings.

The firm said this setup gives managers a level of oversight that traditional paperwork does not match. It also said the approach supports long-term maintenance planning.

Infinity Virtual Tours emerged after a rise in customer requests and progress in scanning technology, according to the company. The firm said it designed the platform in response to recurring client demands around navigation and insight.

Analytics and behaviour

The platform includes integrated analytics tools. These tools include links with Google Analytics.

Operators can see where viewers spend the most time inside a tour. They can also see where viewers exit and what actions precede enquiries or bookings.

The firm said this feedback allows clients to refine the structure of the tour over time. It said this is relevant for hospitality businesses that are seeking higher conversion rates from online visitors.

Mark Shepherd, Director at Apollo3D, said retail clients are asking for greater control over how their digital spaces appear.

"Infinity Virtual Tours give retail clients far more control over how their spaces are presented. They can show different layouts, direct viewers to the areas that influence decisions and treat the tour as the main driver of their marketing. The analytics reveal how people actually use the space, which helps organisations refine the journey and improve results," said Shepherd.

Apollo3D said it sees growing demand from operators that want clearer digital navigation and more meaningful user data. It said this applies across sectors.

Pilot projects in US

Early projects in the United States focus on theatres, concert halls and outdoor arenas. A single scan of a site can support several tour versions.

Public visitors see one layer of information. Touring artists, venue scouts and facilities teams receive a different view of the same space.

The additional view contains more detailed planning data. This includes information relevant for staging, logistics and site operations.

The company has also worked with universities and heritage locations. These clients need detailed route planning for safe and controlled access.

Rob Wilyman, Director at Apollo3D, said the service comes after years of responding to client requests.

"We have spent many years responding to customer challenges and this service is the result of that work. It brings all site information together so managers can understand their buildings whether they are standing inside them or looking from thousands of miles away. For marketing teams it is a very effective way to lead visitors straight to the content that triggers bookings or enquiries. The early interest from clients in the UK and overseas shows how widely this will be adopted," said Wilyman.

Retail and public clients

Apollo3D has operated for eight years. It has created virtual tours for hospitality, leisure and public sector clients across the UK.

Its client list includes Marks and Spencer, Primark, Greene King, OCS, the NHS and the Environment Agency. The firm also works in healthcare, facilities management and retail.

The company expects strong growth for Infinity Virtual Tours as more organisations seek digital ways of showcasing sites and managing assets. It plans further use of artificial intelligence, faster scanning methods and more advanced reporting for building compliance, conservation and long-term maintenance.
