AmTrust has selected Jopari to expand its electronic payment processing. The agreement also includes electronic billing submission through AmTrust's medical bill review platform.

The insurer aims to streamline payment processes for medical and vendor partners while working with a provider that can support both current needs and long-term growth.

Under the arrangement, Jopari will support electronic billing submission and the exchange of medical bills and attachments through AmTrust's platform. The move is intended to create a more direct flow from bill intake to payment and reduce manual steps.

AmTrust is a specialty property and casualty insurer with business in more than 60 countries. Jopari, an Office Ally company, focuses on electronic processing for claims, billing and payments, particularly in workers' compensation and auto medical markets.

Ariel Gorelik outlined the factors behind the decision. "During our selection process, we examined many factors, including financial impact, security, compliance, and ease of interaction for external parties. Jopari took the time to understand our current needs and long-term objectives as a leading insurance provider. Their expertise, comprehensive suite of electronic payment solutions, and flexibility in meeting our unique needs made the selection of Jopari the logical choice," said Ariel Gorelik, Global Chief Operating Officer, AmTrust.

AmTrust's technology leadership said the work extends beyond payment processing.

"We knew process changes beyond electronic payments would impact our project. What we needed was a partner that could collaborate with us on the interdependencies in our process. Jopari has been that partner, working with us every step of the way," said Steve Brown, Senior Vice President of Information Technology, AmTrust.

Integrated workflow

The setup combines Jopari's electronic billing and electronic payments products in a single workflow. For medical providers, that means one route for submitting bills and receiving payment information, while payers can move more transactions through electronic channels.

The integration is designed to support faster reimbursement for providers by reducing administrative delays in bill intake and processing. It also uses Jopari's existing network connections across payers, providers, practice management systems and clearinghouses.

The tie-up comes as insurers and healthcare payments specialists continue pushing more claims-related administration into digital systems, especially in segments such as workers' compensation, where billing attachments and payment handling can remain fragmented across multiple parties.

For AmTrust, the project appears aimed at simplifying interactions with medical providers and vendors while reducing friction in a process that often involves document exchange, compliance checks and several handoffs before payment is issued.

Tom McCarthy said the companies' priorities were closely aligned.

"AmTrust's commitment to innovation, unparalleled service, and outstanding customer experiences mirrors the Jopari philosophy. That shared vision reflects our core values and drives us to deliver our best work in support of AmTrust's continued success," said Tom McCarthy, Senior Vice President, Jopari.

Jopari has operated for more than two decades and says its products are used for the secure exchange of medical billing, attachments and payments. Its reach extends beyond workers' compensation and auto medical into commercial and government healthcare payment and attachment processing.

John Gilmartin pointed to that experience in describing the company's role.

"Our team's dedication to helping customers pursue electronic solutions is unmatched. We're honored to support AmTrust's mission of delivering world-class customer service. For over two decades, Jopari has been committed to improving efficiency and elevating service quality, and our work with AmTrust reflects exactly that," said John Gilmartin, Executive Vice President & General Manager, Jopari.
