Unicommerce launches Shipway Cargo for B2B logistics

Fri, 30th Jan 2026

Shipway, the logistics technology platform owned by Unicommerce, has launched Shipway Cargo, a software-as-a-service product aimed at quick commerce and business-to-business shipments, including heavy and bulky goods.

The new product extends Shipway's scope beyond parcel logistics and into B2B distribution flows. It targets use cases such as dark-store replenishment, distributor supplies and inventory transfers that fall outside slab-based parcel pricing models.

Beyond Parcels

Shipway positioned the product for manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers that run frequent, structured B2B dispatches across supply chains. The company linked the launch to demand for predictable replenishment cycles in quick commerce models, where stock availability depends on regular movement into dark stores and local hubs.

Shipway Cargo covers warehouse-to-warehouse movement and bulky last-mile deliveries. The platform includes a separate dashboard for B2B shipments, distinct from parcel operations.

The company said the product includes slot-based delivery scheduling and access to courier partners that specialise in heavier or bulk consignments. It also said early adopters include direct-to-consumer brands, manufacturers and B2B sellers with complex shipping requirements.

Operational Controls

Shipway said the product provides greater control and transparency for businesses managing different shipment types and service expectations. The company described the offering as a way to manage high-frequency replenishment and distribution activity that does not fit standard parcel workflows.

Unicommerce operates Shipway as part of a broader product suite for eCommerce operations. The company's tools span inventory management, order processing, warehouse operations and returns, alongside logistics management and marketing automation.

Unicommerce also runs Uniware, its backend operations platform, and Convertway, which it describes as an AI-enabled marketing automation product. Shipway forms the logistics layer in the group's portfolio, with courier aggregation and shipping automation.

Kapil Makhija, Managing Director and CEO, Unicommerce, placed the product in the context of retailers expanding across multiple channels.

"B2B shipping is the invisible engine powering India's retail growth today. As retailers expand across formats - from general and modern trade to quick commerce and omnichannel - efficient inventory movement behind the scenes becomes critical. Quick-commerce, and other high-frequency B2B logistics require distinct workflows, partners, and service expectations beyond parcel shipping. Shipway Cargo has been built specifically to meet these needs," said Kapil Makhija, Managing Director and CEO, Unicommerce.

Market Backdrop

The company cited growth expectations in India's eCommerce logistics market. It said the market is projected to expand from $7.25 billion in 2026 to $11.14 billion by 2031. It linked those projections to increased automation, real-time visibility and connected logistics platforms in B2B shipping.

Unicommerce said it serves more than 7,500 clients across India, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The company listed customers including FabIndia, Lenskart, Timex, TCNS, Mamaearth, Sugar, Emami, Urban Company, Cello, Symphony, Healthkart, GNC, boAt, Portronics, TMRW, Mensa and Landmark Group.

The company said Uniware reached an annualised transaction run rate of more than 1 billion order items in Q3 FY25. Unicommerce said its products serve both online and offline retail and cover organisations of different sizes.

Shipway Cargo enters a segment where fulfilment networks increasingly combine parcel delivery with scheduled replenishment, inter-warehouse transfers and heavier consignments. The company said it expects demand for structured, technology-managed B2B shipping to rise as quick commerce and omnichannel retail models expand in India.
