Progress Software unveils Sitefinity AI tool for tailored web content

Tue, 18th Nov 2025

Progress Software has introduced Agentic RAG for Sitefinity, a content management platform feature that combines retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) with real-time content assembly. The product aims to allow enterprises to create dynamic, user-specific web experiences based on visitor prompts and queries. This development brings together conversational artificial intelligence technologies and content management to deliver personalised digital interactions tailored to individual user needs.

AI-driven personalisation

Agentic RAG for Sitefinity is designed to interpret user intent and assemble relevant information from authorised enterprise sources on demand. The system supports multiple languages and incorporates controls for traceability, brand guidelines, and compliance requirements. By doing so, it enables corporates to replace static web pages with interactions that adapt to the current context and needs of the user.

The new feature is aimed at resolving challenges faced by organisations as they try to surface useful knowledge that can often be trapped across disparate internal systems, portals, and documents. The system's prompt-driven approach returns information quickly, presenting answers that reference the original context and source material.

Real-time content assembly

The underlying technology combines advanced information retrieval techniques with automated content generation and display. Approved content repositories are linked to the platform, allowing for real-time updates and web experiences that reflect recent changes in knowledge or policy.

As well as direct user engagement through prompt-driven browsing, Agentic RAG for Sitefinity includes mechanisms for generative engine optimisation (GEO). This helps businesses ensure that their content is more likely to be returned by large language models (LLMs) used in search and digital agents.

Controls and compliance

Agentic RAG for Sitefinity incorporates tools that allow organisations to enforce brand and compliance standards. These features are intended to reassure enterprises about the accuracy and oversight of AI-generated content. The retrieval process is limited to pre-approved content sources, allowing for a higher level of governance over what information can be shared in response to queries.

The system's traceability functions provide users with access to the original sources used to construct dynamic web responses. This is aimed at supporting enterprise requirements for transparency and auditability of AI processes.

Industry perspectives

Digital experience decision-makers are seeking to personalise web interactions at greater scale while maintaining oversight. The use of RAG in a content management platform is intended to help organisations respond to increased expectations among users for immediate, accurate, and personally relevant information.

"Progress is redefining what's possible with Sitefinity-introducing adaptive, AI-driven experiences that respond in real time to each user's context and intent. This innovation gives organisations like ours a distinct advantage: the ability to deepen engagement, personalise at scale and stand apart in a crowded digital space. We're proud to be part of this next chapter," said Rick van Emmerik, Chief Marketing Officer, Tangerine Telecom.

Changing web strategies

The move towards agent-based and AI-assisted content management reflects broader shifts in digital strategy. Organisations are looking beyond conventional pages and manually configured web journeys, instead seeking to automate and personalise at the level of individual interactions.

The launch of Agentic RAG for Sitefinity shows a focus on aligning content delivery systems with current changes in how information is accessed and consumed online.

"AI has fundamentally changed the way people access information. As a result, traditional websites with pre-structured content will soon be obsolete," said Loren Jarrett, EVP & GM, Digital Experience, Progress Software. "Organisations need to provide a modern prompt-driven, totally dynamic information experience for their website visitors, and Progress Agentic RAG for Sitefinity makes this a reality."
