Philips MediaSuite hospitality TV sales surpass 500k units
PPDS, the global provider of Philips Professional Displays, has announced an impressive sales milestone for its unique Philips MediaSuite hospitality TV series with integrated Chromecast technology and security. The company recently confirmed that its sales have surpassed the 500,000 mark.
This significant achievement was reached during ISE 2024, as leading global hotel companies continue to select Philips MediaSuite for their in-room entertainment. Hotel groups, including Accor, B&B Hotels, Best Western, Choice, Four Seasons, IHG, Louvre, Marriott, Radisson, and Wyndham, favour MediaSuite due to its extensive feature and entertainment offerings, including Netflix, Apple TV+, DAZN, Disney+, Prime, and YouTube.
Philips MediaSuite TVs have reported impressive sales growth since their debut less than five years ago, surpassing even PPDS's ambitious internal targets. The visionary behind Philips MediaSuite, Jeroen Verhaeghe, Global Business Development Director for Hospitality at PPDS, commented on the milestone, stating, "Philips MediaSuite was inspired by personal experience. Hotel TVs had lost their appeal. They simply weren't keeping pace with modern day viewing habits, forcing guests to watch their content through their mobile devices rather than on the big screen."
Verhaeghe continued, "That is certainly not the case in the half million plus rooms now hosting Philips MediaSuite, bringing home-from-home entertainment options streaming in for guests, reforming perceptions of hotel TVs, and creating new possibilities and efficiencies for hotels, too."
Philips MediaSuite remains the only hospitality TV to feature built-in Chromecast, with access to the Google Play store and Netflix-ready functionality. This innovation allows guests to access and cast their content from their preferred accounts directly onto the TV using their own personal devices, providing a seamless transition between home and the hotel room. Moreover, with Chromecast built-in, security is also enhanced, removing the risk of hardware theft and ensuring customer data is automatically deleted upon check-out.
Philips MediaSuite TVs also offer significant management capabilities and cost-saving opportunities. The company's unique Extended Lifetime promise ensures that Philips MediaSuite TVs improve with age, receiving regular software updates and adding the latest features found on the newest models. TVs can be entirely remotely managed, maximising their investment and reducing unnecessary upgrades and electronic waste, supporting their sustainability goals.
In addition to this, September 2023 marked the introduction of the Philips Professional Soundbar, providing an elevated cinema experience and transforming hotel guest rooms into highly immersive cinematic experiences. Jeroen Verhaeghe added, "By working with our specialist team of experts, together with the unrivalled manufacturing power of our mother company, TPV, and our incredible partners, we are committed to delivering the many world-first features and functions on this state-of-the-art, all-inclusive, and ever-evolving solution."
Verhaeghe concluded, "We couldn't be more pleased with the response from the market. With news such as the addition of DAZN, we are continuing to bring world-first, complementary solutions that add even more value for our hospitality customers. And we thank them all for choosing Philips, positioning our hospitality TVs as the brand of choice for advanced guest entertainment and experiences."
