Crompton launches Ameo Pro air fryer for even cooking

Fri, 24th Apr 2026 (Today)

Crompton has launched the Ameo Pro 5.5L air fryer in India, targeting consumers seeking more even cooking results.

The appliance was developed to address a common complaint in the air fryer market: users often need to pause cooking and rearrange food to prevent uneven results. The new model uses a bowl design intended to improve heat circulation and reduce the need for manual intervention.

At the centre of the Ameo Pro 5.5L is what Crompton calls a Pro Heating Bowl, which uses a louvre-based airflow structure to circulate heat around food from multiple sides. According to the company, this delivers more consistent cooking and can cut cooking time by up to 30%.

Other features include an 11-menu preset system, an interactive display, a viewing window with an integrated lamp, and dishwasher-safe basket and tray parts. The air fryer also operates at under 52 decibels through what Crompton calls SilentPro Technology.

The launch reflects continued consumer interest in kitchen appliances that support low-oil cooking at home. Air fryers have become increasingly common in Indian households in recent years, particularly among urban consumers looking for alternatives to conventional frying.

The appliance also includes what Crompton calls Nutriguard Technology, designed to support nutrient retention while enabling low-oil cooking. The product is being positioned towards busy families and working professionals in the 25 to 40 age group.

Market focus

The product will be sold through major retail outlets, adding to Crompton's presence in the small domestic appliances segment. That business sits alongside the company's larger operations in fans, pumps, lighting, water heaters, and other home appliances.

India's kitchen appliance market has attracted growing attention from established electrical brands seeking growth beyond more mature product categories. For companies such as Crompton, air fryers offer access to a segment where demand is driven by convenience, health considerations, and ease of cleaning.

Ketan Chaudhari, Head Small Domestic Appliances at Crompton, outlined the reasoning behind the launch.

"Air fryers have seen tremendous adoption in Indian homes over the past few years, but the category has largely moved on volume rather than solving the core experience gaps. At Crompton, we felt it was time to go deeper. The Ameo Pro isn't just another air fryer - it's our answer to what consumers have actually been asking for: food that cooks right the first time, without the constant monitoring. The Pro Heating Bowl is the result of that thinking. Beyond performance, we've also been deliberate about the details that matter in daily use - the noise levels, the cleaning, the ease of operation. These may seem like smaller considerations, but they're what determine whether a product actually stays on the kitchen counter or gets pushed to the back of a cabinet. We're confident the Ameo Pro earns its place," he said.

Crompton is one of India's established consumer electricals groups, with a long-standing position in fans and residential pumps and a wider portfolio that includes lighting, kitchen appliances, and home appliances. The company has also expanded into business-to-business lighting and solar-related products.

The Ameo Pro launch adds another product to Crompton's effort to strengthen its position in everyday household kitchen appliances, where buying decisions often depend on whether products save time, simplify cleaning, and deliver consistent results.
