Akai India launches direct online store for home tech

Fri, 27th Feb 2026

Akai India has launched a direct-to-consumer website, Akaiindia.in, adding a new sales channel for its televisions, home appliances and audio products in India.

The platform is positioned as a single destination to buy products and access services. To mark the launch, Akai is offering limited-time promotional pricing on the site, including up to 30% off and no-cost EMI across the range.

Product range

The website lists Akai's television line-up across Ultra HD Smart TVs, Smart TVs and standard models. It also includes air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines and audio systems.

In air conditioners, the catalogue includes the Heavy Duty Siaachen series, the Nilgiree series and the Hot and Cold Kaashmir series. Refrigeration products include the Deep Fresh range, while washing machines include Deep Clean models.

In televisions, Akai is highlighting Google TV models running Android 14. The Power View Ultra HD Smart QLED 4K range spans sizes from (32)80 cm to (75)190 cm. The site also lists larger formats, including (100)254 cm and (86)218 cm 4K Ultra HD Smart Google QLED TVs.

Beyond televisions, the site lists single-door refrigerators, including a 165L wine colour option, as well as 48L compact models. For washing machines, it includes fully automatic top-loading models from 7.5kg to 12kg, which the company said come with built-in heaters.

Audio products include Bluetooth party speakers, such as the PartyMate Pro 60W RMS trolley speaker and the UltraBoom-60, which Akai said includes karaoke functionality.

Direct channel

The launch reflects a wider push among consumer electronics brands to sell directly online alongside retailers and marketplaces. A D2C platform gives brands more control over product presentation, pricing and service messaging, and builds a direct relationship with buyers-shaping warranty registration, after-sales support and repeat purchases.

Akai said the site will serve customers across India and showcase its latest product launches.

Anurag Sharma, Managing Director and CEO of Akai India, said the launch is designed to help customers nationwide discover products and access services.

"The AKAI website is a one-stop-destination for consumers pan India to find our latest launched products and avail services. The exclusive website offers customers a unique opportunity to avail multiple benefits. This initiative brings our gold-class quality-Smart TVs, ACs, refrigerators, washing machines, and party speakers-directly to you at unbeatable value," said Anurag Sharma, Managing Director and CEO, AKAI India.

Brand background

Akai traces its origins to Tokyo in 1929 and is known for consumer electronics across audio and televisions, along with appliances such as washing machines and air conditioners. The brand also sells interactive displays.

Akai said its product philosophy centres on simplicity, effectiveness and durability, and that it positions its line-up around "Honest Home Essentials". It also said it is focused on customer engagement and retention as part of its approach in India.

Akai said the new D2C website is a step in its customer engagement plans across the country.
