Rithum launches AI Magic Mapper to streamline marketplace expansion

Tue, 18th Jun 2024

Rithum has announced the release of its new AI Magic Mapper tool, which is designed to streamline marketplace expansion for brands. Previously known as ChannelAdvisor and CommerceHub, Rithum works with over 40,000 global brands and manages more than USD $50 billion in commerce each year.

Founded to address the growing needs of brands in the dynamic online marketplace, Rithum has continually evolved, integrating advanced tools and technologies to support its clients' growth. The company offers a suite of services, including inventory management, product listing, order fulfilment, and performance analytics, designed to optimise e-commerce operations and drive revenue growth.

The AI Magic Mapper tool aims to automate the time-intensive task of uploading product catalogues to new sales channels. By reducing the hours required to complete this process to mere minutes, the tool promises to increase brands' speed to site and speed to revenue. Rithum stated that during early testing, the tool achieved a 99% accuracy rate in category recommendations for a clothing and apparel company with around 14,000 products.

Aarthi Ramamurthy, Chief Technology and Product Officer at Rithum, explained the significance of the new tool. "For many brands, marketplace expansion is key to growth, especially with third-party commerce becoming the standard business model. However, tasks like uploading products are preventing brands from unlocking potential channels. Embracing technology—and specifically AI—is a real game-changer for brands looking to grow their marketplace expansion and customer reach," she said.

The AI Magic Mapper uses an AI engine to perform automatic categorisation. Brands need to complete a brief point-and-click calibration process to fine-tune the AI engine. The tool then automatically generates subsequent products. Once generated, the recommended categories, including product titles, descriptions, and extensive datasets, can be reviewed and confirmed by the brand.

Ramamurthy also outlined future enhancements planned for the tool. "Our vision for Magic Mapper extends beyond category mapping to a more intuitive product field mapping process. Soon, we will introduce an upgraded attribute mapping process, guiding users through the selection of mandatory and optional attributes to enhance product listings further. This ensures your brand's products are effectively positioned in the marketplace to drive sales," she added.

Rithum has positioned this new tool as a vital instrument for brands seeking to expand their online presence quickly and efficiently. By harnessing artificial intelligence, the company aims to simplify and accelerate the process of listing products on multiple channels, potentially giving brands a competitive edge in the e-commerce landscape.
