Manhattan Associates launches Postgame Spotlight to optimise fulfillment

Yesterday

Manhattan Associates recently unveiled Postgame Spotlight, an analytics tool designed to refine inventory allocation and enhance fulfilment performance for retailers.

The tool, accessible via a real-time dashboard, provides valuable insights into inventory decisions that could impair order fulfilment performance. By optimising inventory placement, the company aims to reduce fulfilment expenses and elevate profitability for its clients.

With the rapid evolution of online commerce and the growing importance of omnichannel fulfilment, traditional supply chains are under increased pressure. Despite advancements in order management systems, physical limitations, including the misplacement of inventory or stock imbalances between different locations, persist. These challenges can necessitate fulfilling orders from secondary locations, increasing costs and diminishing profit margins.

Postgame Spotlight, an extension of Manhattan Active Order Management, calculates the efficiency of order fulfilment locations and pinpoints what causes orders to be dispatched from less optimal sites. Key performance indicators include inventory availability, store resource capacity, and service level discrepancies. This analysis is crucial for retailers seeking to adjust their inventory strategies, enhance store staffing, and refine service agreements to meet customer demands while controlling costs.

Amy Tennent, Senior Director of Product Management at Manhattan, said, "Postgame Spotlight is a great companion to the Fulfilment Insights capability Manhattan introduced last year. While Fulfilment Insights helps retailers compare their performance to their peers, Postgame Spotlight helps look inward to quickly pinpoint opportunities to enhance inventory performance and profitability."

By integrating Postgame Spotlight with existing Manhattan technology solutions, there is potential for improved collaboration between supply chain teams, store staff, and business stakeholders, fostering a more unified approach to managing inventory and fulfilment.
