Feedstead has launched a browser-based supplier price review tool for Shopify catalogue operators. It is aimed at businesses and agencies that update existing product prices from supplier cost lists.

The service compares a supplier cost file with a current Shopify product export and prepares a CSV containing only the updates the operator selects. It works with supplier CSV files and Excel workbooks, matching products through exact SKU references in both source files.

A free version handles up to 200 supplier rows without sign-up. A Workspace subscription costs USD $29 a month, increases file limits, and adds reusable client and supplier settings for users handling repeated catalogue review work.

The workflow starts with two files: a Shopify export and a supplier list. Users identify the relevant columns, check currency and number conventions, and set markup and rounding rules before the system calculates proposed retail prices from supplier costs.

Proposed changes appear in a review table before any Shopify import takes place. Operators can choose which changes to include in the export rather than apply every proposed adjustment from the supplier list.

Items with larger changes are flagged against a user-defined review threshold and require approval before they can be included. Unmatched supplier SKUs are recorded in the comparison report but do not create new Shopify products.

Review process

The service is focused on recurring maintenance of existing catalogues rather than broader eCommerce management. It is designed for cases where a supplier issues a revised cost list and a retailer, agency, or freelance catalogue manager must decide which existing prices to change.

For agencies and contractors, the Workspace tier includes five local client profiles and 20 saved supplier configurations. These settings retain mappings and pricing rules for later use when new source files are loaded for another review.

Workspace supports files of up to 50,000 rows and 20MB each. Settings can also be backed up and restored, although the backup contains configuration data only and does not include source spreadsheets or subscription access.

The product processes source spreadsheets in the browser and does not connect directly to a Shopify store. It also does not write changes automatically to a catalogue, leaving the operator to download the result and carry out the Shopify import separately.

That design lets prospective users test the comparison process without granting store access. It also leaves responsibility with the operator to confirm that the source files and pricing rules are suitable for the update being prepared.

Scope limits

Feedstead is positioning the service as a tool for reviewing supplier costs on existing products rather than as a full catalogue management system. It does not offer automatic inventory synchronisation, creation of new products, foreign-exchange conversion, or a shared cloud catalogue.

After a review, users can download two outputs: a Shopify update CSV and a separate comparison report. The update file retains the sibling-variant context required from the Shopify export, including existing values for related rows needed in the import file.

The comparison report records each supplier row and notes selection and review context, including unmatched rows excluded from the update. This creates a record of what was assessed during a particular review cycle alongside the file intended for Shopify import.

Feedstead has also provided a working example built on synthetic files so users can inspect the workflow without using customer data. The sample includes a standard price change, a larger increase that requires approval, and an unmatched supplier SKU that remains outside the final update.

The monthly Workspace plan renews until cancelled, while the free version remains available for smaller supplier files. Workspace is intended for users handling larger lists and repeated preparation work across multiple suppliers or clients.
