Today

Alibaba Cloud has been recognised as a Leader in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud Database Management Systems for the fifth consecutive year.

According to Gartner, vendors are evaluated across several dimensions, including their Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. The assessment covers 15 critical areas such as product or service offerings, customer experience, market understanding, strategy, and innovation. Gartner notes that Leaders in this space may represent diverse cloud ecosystems or demonstrate robust interoperability with such systems. These vendors are also noted for consistently high customer satisfaction and strong customer support.

Dr Feifei Li, President of Database Products Business at Alibaba Cloud, stated, "We are honoured to be named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for cloud DBMS report for the fifth years in a row."

"In the era when effective data management becomes a crucial infrastructure for business operation in a range of industries as well as for generative AI development, we remain committed to delivering cutting-edge and high-performance solutions that empower businesses to harness the full potential of their data."

Alibaba Cloud provides an array of cloud-native database products including relational database platforms like PolarDB, AnalyticDB for data warehousing, multimodal database Lindorm, and the Data Management Service (DMS). The technology firm continues to enhance these tools, with recent developments like the DMS: OneMeta+OneOps platform.

This platform aims to unify data management across various environments, potentially increasing data utilisation tenfold.

Alibaba Cloud is actively working to build a varied and open ecosystem by collaborating with global database vendors such as MongoDB, ClickHouse, and SelectDB. This collaboration supports a variety of third-party products, open-source solutions, and integrated offerings, providing flexible options to meet evolving customer requirements.

The company's cloud-native database innovations and collaborations have been adopted across a range of industries, from finance to AI development. MiniMax, a Chinese AI technology firm, uses Alibaba Cloud's Lindorm database for its data needs, enhancing its intelligent AI search services.

The database's AI capabilities allow it to handle extensive data storage and rapid data retrieval effectively.

TNG Digital, a prominent fintech company in Malaysia, utilises Alibaba Cloud's services to ensure stable operations for its TNG eWallet platform. During major events, the platform maintained service continuity without any downtime, supported by Alibaba Cloud's secure database offerings like PolarDB and ApsaraDB for MongoDB.

This infrastructure allows TNG Digital to manage high transaction volumes and explore new AI-driven business strategies.

ZA Bank, recognised as Hong Kong's first and largest digital bank, has migrated to Alibaba Cloud's database services to enable scalable and secure data management.

The adoption of ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL aids the bank in adjusting resources dynamically in response to varying business demands, while maintaining stringent security protocols, including encryption and DDoS protection, to ensure regulatory compliance and data safety.
